Mysore classes for beginners and advanced

The “Mysore class” is the traditional way of teaching Ashtanga yoga, the same way that Pattabhi Jois was used to teach at the beginning.

All the Ashtanga practitioners, also the ones who started with the led classes, will eventually attend the Mysore class, as it is only trough this way of practice that we can reach our deep self-consciousness.

In fact, this approach will quite quick develop 3 of the 7 yoga branches: Pratyahara (control of the senses), Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation).
(You can find more information concerning the yoga branches in the page “Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga).

Mysore classes are a kind of autonomous and silent practice, in which each person can follow his own breath’s rhythm and reach a high deep movement and meditative state.

In a Mysore class each student gradually learns the series and evolves to the rhythm of his own breath. The teacher can so adjust the students in the postures and give them variations adapted to their physical conditions.

The student receives the attention given during a private class while benefiting from the energy of a group lesson.

Mysore class is a unique way of teaching, which allows the student to quickly establish a personal practice and to quickly progress.
